Our opportunity

Our Software Development Teams focus on the development of innovative image processing software for integration into Toshiba products and systems across the globe. We have opportunities for 2 Software Interns in various roles in our North Ryde Office, with flexibility offered to suit student needs. The primary purpose of these positions is to define & analyse development opportunities, understand user requirements, determine & implement solutions using a broad range of technologies & tools, seek possible improvements, and maintain existing products.

Depending on intern performance and business requirements, this position may extend and may lead to a permanent employment role with Toshiba, although this is not guaranteed.

Other Responsibilities:

• Under supervision, participate in a broader team to prototype, design, implement and support new technologies that enhance the value of product and solution offerings.
• Defect triage and repair
• Product feature implementation
• Develop test scripts and automate test cases
• Carry out related tests and assist in verifying testing results;
• Assist in developing research tools and commercial products;
• Prepare documentation as directed by manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be in your final 2 years of BE / BSc (Computing) or B Computer Science enrolment
• Good programming skills in at least one of Python, HTML/JS, C, C++, C# or C++11
• Development skills in Linux OS and Windows environments
• Mathematical and analytical skills.
• Good code analysis and debugging skills of complex code.

In addition to the above, the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time management and communication skills as well as a commitment to teamwork and customer service.
