Our opportunity

Our Imaging and Colour Technology development team focuses on the MFP Raster Image Processor (RIP), Print Technology related software tools and Imaging Research. Product-level code development of the RIP is performed on Linux OS. We have an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer on contract basis in our North Ryde Office, reporting to the Section Manager. The primary purpose of this position is to identify/fix issues in the existing RIP products, determine/implement possible quality/performance improvements and to develop new innovative printing and colour solutions.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Raster Image Processing and Colour Technology Development Team in the shaping and designing of the next generation of firmware architecture, new print features and Print Technology related client software tools;
  • Participate in product level code implementation for RIP firmware;
  • Participate in defect triage, repair, and test activities;
  • Constantly seek possible improvements of RIP functionalities and performance by thinking creatively;
  • Communicate with managers and teams to define new solutions, feasible schedules, milestones, and take the challenge of innovating new technologies.
  • Participate in a broader team to prototype, design, implement, and support new technologies that enhance the value of Toshiba MFPs.

 

Our requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have prior experience in RIP software development, be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time management and communication skills as well as a commitment to teamwork and customer service. 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree qualified (BE / BSc (Computing) or B Computer Science) or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of RIP software development experience.
  • Excellent programming skills in C and C++
  • Development skills in Linux OS environments
  • Mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Good code analysis and debugging skills of complex code.
