Our opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who loves problem solving and delivering exceptional customer outcomes to join our Gold Coast sales team as a Sales Supervisor. The Gold Coast is back as a business destination, driven largely by the growth in tourism and this year's major sporting event. As the only manufacturer direct operation on the Gold Coast, Toshiba is well positioned to take advantage of the growth taking place now and in the future.

To demonstrate our commitment to the Gold Coast, we have recently relocated our operations to the heart of Southport in a prestigious business tower overlooking the hinterland and the Broadwater. We have the right facilities, we have the right support structure, we just need the RIGHT SALES LEADER.

Having a proven track record in IT related sales (print/telephony/software/services) is a given for the role, and we know there's a lot of you out there. But we're looking for more – well presented, well spoken, well written, and well connected. In addition to the normal Account Manager responsibilities, this role will also act as a supervisor for sales within a small branch.

The role reports to the SEQ Regional Manager Andrew Hopper who is investing an enormous amount of time and resources to develop Toshiba's business on the Gold Coast, so the successful candidate will have the full support of “The Boss”. Once fully trained and prepared by Toshiba to meet with our customers and prospects, Andrew will empower the successful candidate with the autonomy, and provide the marketing and support resources needed to maximize success.

Make no mistake, our expectations are high for this role, but the opportunity to earn a significant income is real and achievable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure individual and team monthly sales targets are met
  • Ensure a focus on new business to achieve budgets set out by regional Manager
  • Initiate contact with prospective purchasers of EID products within the Commercial ,Government and Not For Profit Sector with a view to securing sales of that product in accordance with Branch and divisional directives
  • Undertake regular PR calls to existing customers in accordance with Branch and Divisional directives
  • Supervise and assist with training of a small team of sales people within a satellite branch.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities performed in order to meet these targets and present to management as directed
  • Participate in all Toshiba EID product training sessions.
  • Attend promotional activities organised by Branch and Division as directed by management
  • Ensure maximum attendance of existing and prospective customers to these activities by way of invitation and follow-up
  • Provide regular reports regarding sales activities and progress to Manager as requested

To be successful in this role, you will need to work effectively with customers and Toshiba team members across multiple departments and at various levels.  Therefore, sound interpersonal skills, strong customer service orientation and a commitment to the Toshiba Values will ensure success.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • At least 5 years sales experience in a business to business (B2B) sales role
  • 2+ years management or supervisory experience.
  • Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as a minimum
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong client presentation delivery and demonstration skills
  • Professional personal presentation and grooming
  • Current car driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Excellent customer relationship and PR skills.
  • Excellent people management, communication and customer relations skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively train sales staff.
  • Ability to understand, demonstrate and sell relevant solutions.
  • Attention to detail for paperwork and data base maintenance.
  • Management qualifications highly regarded.
